About Me

About Me

Environment and service have always been an aspect of my life. Some of my best memories from childhood were the times I was in nature. Whether it was climbing through the branches of a citrus tree in a stair step motion at school, driving to Joshua Tree National Park to sleep under the stars, or swimming through the kelp forests in the Pacific Ocean. These memories instilled a respect for the natural environment at an early age and set the course for my professional and academic experiences.

I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2020 where I majored in Environmental Studies with a minor in Professional Writing (civic engagement emphasis). In this minor I advanced my skills in journalism writing, writing blog posts, crafting media awareness campaigns, designing infographics, and drafting press releases, policy memos, and grants.

While attending UCSB, I was involved in local activism through the Environmental Affairs Board and Food Forward. I spent time learning about the intersectionality of the issues we face, grew passionate about climate and environmental justice, and sought out volunteer opportunities to reduce food insecurity in the community. I also interned with the Community Environmental Council and Santa Barbara Channelkeeper researching alternatives to single-use plastic containers for restaurants. Through this internship, I gained valuable experience in community outreach and engagement.

I believe writing is a tool for change and a powerful way to spread awareness. I hope to pursue a career where I can use writing and communication to inspire action on environmental issues and catalyze change.

In my free time, I perform and teach aerial arts, enjoy spending time outdoors, and sharing my passion for vegetarian cooking.
